I found a stark contrast in viewing between flicking from ABC’s story on ex-Perth Newsreader Charmaine Dragun’s fatal battle with depression – to Channel 10’s Big Brother.
The show is now in its 8th season, and in an effort to revive the stale old format and claw back some ratings from last year’s appalling results, they’ve changed the logo again, and introduced Kyle & Jackie-O to replace Gretel Kileen as hosts.
The one thing that struck me when I was watching this god-awful freak show that passes for prime time television these days, was that they’ve stooped to an all new low – they’ve put a midget in the house purely for freak value.
Now you’re probably thinking, ‘jeez that’s a bit harsh – aren’t they called ‘little people’? And they’re not freaks, they’re people’.
True on both counts, but the BB producers don’t see it that way.. they know people will tune in to the show to see the 1 meter tall ethnic lady with a foul mouth night after night.
This will officially the 8th season in a row that I won’t be watching this tripe.
