This week I did Live Caricatures at the national MIAA (Mortgage Industry Association of Australia) conference at the Perth Convention Centre. Being someone who is currently shopping for a mortgage; and being in the middle of a sea of 1000 mortgage brokers and lenders, it couldn’t have come at a better time.
The conference was a great success; I was hired by Finsia, a corporate education company, to draw people to their stand; literally.
As usual, it worked very well; I’ve never known of live caricatures to detract conference delegates from any kind of stand.
The other good thing was that Finsia’s primary objective was to push their brand recognition so that people realised that they had recently merged with another major institute. Every caricature had their logo on the top right-hand corner of the page so when other exhibitors put them up in their stall or in their office, the Finsia branding is right there in full colour.

It was funny to see that once all of the other exhibitors (all banks and lenders) saw how successful and effective the caricatures were at getting attention, The Commonwealth Bank hired my mate Smithy at the last minute to come in and do caricatures for their stand. Very original thinking, CommBank.
The conference ran for three days from Wednesday to Friday.
