Context: In the United States this week as I've been travelling around I've noticed everywhere I go, people are glued to tv screens watching the World Cup. Everyone seems to have jumped on the "soccer" bandwagon and gone crazy with fanatically following the competition. Anyone I speak with this week seems to only be talking about the World Cup; this is despite the fact that the front page of USA Today this week made light of the fact that the death toll of US soldiers in Iraq has hit a staggering 2500. No one I spoke to was aware of this small fact...
