Context: Housing prices in Perth are skyrocketing as more and more people flood the market. The shortage is incredible and it's locking first home-buyers (like myself) right out of the market. There was a surreal scene at 7:00am on Hay street on Saturday where a queue of more than 120 lined up for a look in at a block of apartments in East Perth. Within 5 hours, 74 of the apartments had been sold.
This week also sees the premier of the much anticipated movie version of the Dan Brown book; "The Da Vinci Code". Marketing for the movie started just over a year ago in cinemas and has lead up to a massive pre-premier hype from movie-goers to church officials. Clearly one of the biggest films of the year.
