Context : Premier Alan Carpenter was at the Vic Park by-election after the win by Ben Wyatt, and was talking about how
the only people to raise D'Orazio as an issue were journalists. Police Minister D'Orazio has had two lashings from the West
Australian - first aboutdodgy dealings with in his earlier days, and again late last week over not paying superannuation to his
staff when he owned a pharmacy during his mayoral days.
The other point to make clear is that Alan Carpenter, like a lot of pollies, is an ex-journalist. He worked at the ABC years
ago on the 7:30 report and also later for Channel 7 News.
